2019 Ford Escape vs. 2020 Ford Escape Differences

There's lots of differences with the new 2020 Escape compared to the 2019 model. Both are true standouts, but Ford has given the 2020 model a revamp. That includes making it slightly lighter, longer and wider for a bit more cargo space, plus updated style on the exterior. In addition, under the hood, it's totally different. The Escape is using a turbocharged 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine standard which produces 180 horsepower. There's also a 2.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder option to give you 250 horsepower. There's also the return of the Escape SE Sport Hybrid which provides even more efficiency and quality power.

In terms of driving capability, all Escape models come as front wheel drive or all-wheel drive options. With all-wheel drive vehicles there's a new features called AWD Disconnect which will disengage the AWD system if you don't need to have it used, such as on clear days where you're driving on city streets of Newark, Elizabeth or New York City.

There's also plenty more added safety, with standard Ford CoPilot360™ onboard. This gives you not only the central display with a rearview camera but offers standard features like pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping system, BLIS® with cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control among other options.

There's also connective features with more apps such as Waze being integrated as an app with SYNC® and FordPass™ Connect which allows for remote access to vehicle information, starting your Escape, and finding it using location services through your app on your phone.
