Ford Reveals Redesigned 2020 Escape

The Escape compact SUV is one of Ford's bestselling SUV, offering drivers a compelling mix of easy drivability and versatile practicality. While the current model remains as popular as ever, it's also been around for several years. Right on time, Ford has released images and details for a completely redesigned 2020 Escape.

It's clear from a single look that the 2020 Escape has significant changes from the current model. Ford went with a ground-up redesign for the 2020 model, revamping style, performance, technology, and features along the way.

Exterior styling is dramatically different, offering smoother, sleeker lines and a more car-like stance. The Escape has veered rather far from the more rugged looks of the first-generation model, and the 2020 model continues that trend.

The interior is all-new as well. Beyond the obvious styling updates, the 2020 Escape will offer new features like a rotary gear selector, digital gauge cluster, and all-new center display screen.

Where things remain largely unchanged is under the hood. The 2020 Escape will keep the same three-engine lineup, offering the 2.5-liter iVCT engine, the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. A hybrid powertrain is slated for availability as well.

As of now, Ford has stated that the 2020 Escape will be available for purchase near New York, NY around fall of 2019.
