New F-150 Police Responder Equipped for Pursuit up to 100 mph, All-Terrain Maneuverability

Police pickups have been around for a while, but Ford has stepped it up a notch with its new F-150 Responder. Combining power, speed, and off-road capability, it’s the first law enforcement pickup rated for police pursuit.

It all starts with the engine. Ford grabbed the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 available (in different formats) in both the Raptor and consumer-level F-150, tweaked it, and stuffed it in the Police Responder. In this setup, the engine is good for 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Flat out, the F-150 Police Responder will cruise to its limited 100 mph top speed with ease. Plus, the engine's impressive torque means it can handle up to 7,000 pounds of towing.

The F-150 Police Responder is equipped for off-road use, too. It's rugged four-wheel drive system, high ground clearance, and all-terrain tires prepare it for a variety of off-road occasions.

At the moment the Police Responder is available only to law enforcement. But you can find many of its same features available on consumer-level F-150 models. For a rundown on these features and a thorough test drive, swing by our location in Jersey City.
